Old York.. not New York..

YORK... We wondered if New York had any relation to York...

Anyways, okay, we just came back from York. Its pretty and nice, but realllllly small. I mean really small. Like we finished WALKING the entire city centre in less than 4 hours. York was probably built by the romans pre-britain, and the walls they erected around the city (now only the city centre) still stand more than 1000 years later. Its really nice because most of their buildings there are really old. I havent really seen a modern building in york, like even hilton hotel refurbished some old building and continued using it.

York is famous for a few things, like the York Minister, a really grand cathedral. Another would be Jorvik, a Viking museum and Clifford Tower, which is a mini fortress built on a hill. The story is that when the Jews were persecuted a long long long time ago, they ran up into clifford tower and committed suicide there. All 170 of them. It was said that they would rather die in the hands of their own than to die in the hands of their enemies.

So yup, its a picturesque type of city, some of the photos probably won't do much justice to the beauty of the city. This York trip was pretty fun, save for the fact that we had about 4 hours to kill before our train ride back to manchester, but York is definitely better than Liverpool. To those liverpool fans back home, Liverpool is really boring... and Scousers are really rude too.

Okay, pictures up, here we go...

On the train.. raymond woke up late. So the girls had to run with him all the way to the station. They reached 2 mins before the train departed. And LingSze nearly died. When i mean she nearly died.. she nearly did. Her face was white like a sheet when i saw her at Piccadilly
