..............The Days in Manchester............: Esmond's visit.

Apologies for the really late posts. hahaha.. been quite lazy recently. School work + laziness + the lack of activities here have resulted in a pretty dead blog this week. So yup, here's a post to liven things up a little.

Esmond came. It finally gave us a chance to "visit" manchester. Strangely, we have been in manchester for almost 4 weeks now, but we havent visited much of manchester's finest attractions. haha. So esmond came and we decided to take him around for a visit to the top attractions in manchester. AND, as it panned out, they are all within walking distances from where we stay. esmond came at around 1pm, exactly when we finished classes on wednesday, so we took him out for the afternoon. First, we went to whitworth art gallery. Well, if you were wondering if whitworth art gallery was any near where i stay at whitworth park hall, YOU are right. Its even nearer than Whitworth Park or even the supermarkets that we often go every week. Its like... maybe 30m from the side gate of our hall? haha. So why didn't we visit it? The answer is.. I don't know.

Whitworth Art Gallery (2nd of the top 5 attractions in Manchester)

So this is whitworth art gallert on the outside. typical old vicotorian building, but it does have some art pieces that are really nice. It costs 1 pound to take pictures inside the art gallery, so eugene being the cheapo, refused to pay and take pictures.

Next stop: National Museum (3rd on the list of top 5 attractions)

This one is funny. Wenqi and I were thinking for the longest time ever, where is the national museum and we found out finally. Its right in the heart of school. Its part of the University of Manchester, and it has the nicest building in the entire school. Its right along oxford road, and we have walked past it zillions of times to get to school. Its really huge, so we never really completed the entire museum. 2 hours there only allowed us to see maybe 1/3 of the entire museum? or there abouts.

Okay, this photo is quite scary. Its the Mummy of Arzu. You might think its quite bright, but actually its just the flash. this mummy hides in some corner that is really dark and its "guarded" by to egyptian soldiers. freaky.....

OUCHHH!!! hahaha.. i took that for fun. don't even know what it is.

Wenqi and her pet bear. Oh yeah, these animals are Real! wrong, WERE real. they are real specimens that have been preserved or smth.

I like the lion. It looked really real, like i stared into its eyes and I could see that it was alive before. Quite scary actually.

I like the Tiger too. Its looks real. I mean.. it was a real tiger before.

This Amazon Tree Boa is really poor thing. Manchester Museum is part of the act to preserve close to extinction animals and they tried to get it to breed, but the tree boa contracted some kind of incurable disease while in the enclosure, and all of them died. So they decided not to breed them there any more.

These animals are live. They are found in the "live section" of the museum, and we have to stand there for really long to spot where they are. Some are quite good at camouflage.
